The Strategic Group is responsible for determining SWEP’s strategy and priorities in the current and future social work education landscape. The function of the Strategic Group is to set objectives, approve workplans, and monitor progress to ultimately inform the strategic direction of the work programme. This will require partners to represent the views of their organisation through regular engagement in order to feedback and inform the group’s decision making. The group may also make collective recommendations for improvements in relation to issues which are not within its scope.

Aims & Objectives

  • To provide strategic leadership to drive forward improvements across social work education.
  • To ensure consistency in the development and delivery of social work qualifying programmes with the aim of leading improvements in the quality of social work education across Scotland. 
  • To be responsible for setting the direction of the work of the Delivery Group.
  • To advocate for social work education.
